What Water Heater Repair Premium offers

The plan covers up to $3,000 per year toward repair or replacement of most parts on tankless or tank-based electric water heaters, propane water heaters and gas water heaters, including:

Electric water heaters:

Drain valve
Temperature/pressure relief valve
Upper and lower thermostat
Upper and lower element

Gas water heaters:

Burner supply tube and assembly
Drain valve
Gas valve
Main burner
Supply tube and assembly
Temperature control
Temperature/pressure relief valve
Thermocouple

The plan also has limited coverage for your potable (suitable drinking) piping lines from the home’s foundational outline to the point of supply connection at each appliance/plumbing fixture. The program expressly excludes potable lines within or under concrete slabs or that are outside of the home’s foundational footprint.

Waiting period

There is a 30-day waiting period from the day of enrollment before you are eligible for repair or replacement. A complete description of the terms and conditions is contained in the service contract sent to all new enrollees.

Terms and Conditions (En Español)

If you were previously a Duke Energy utility customer, your Home Protection Plans were included on your monthly electric bill. However, since you are no longer a Duke Energy regulated utility customer, we cannot add the plan amount to your monthly utility bill. Your credit card, debit card or bank account will be charged each month for your selected Home Protection Plan(s). You will receive a confirmation email once your payment has been processed.
Most parts of the tankless or tank-based electric, natural gas and propane water heaters. This includes, but is not limited to, electric water heater: drain valve, upper and lower thermostat, upper and lower element and temperature/pressure relief valve. On the gas water heater: burner supply tube and assembly, drain valve, gas valve, pilot light, supply tube and assembly, temperature control, thermocouple, temperature/pressure relief valve and main burner.

The plan also has limited coverage to your potable (suitable drinking) piping lines from the home’s foundational outline to the point of supply connection at each appliance/plumbing fixture.
