Surge Coverage and Grounding Premium includes:
Up to $5,000 per incident and up to $10,000/year for just $9.99/month. Available to renters and homeowners. Pricing does not include applicable sales tax.

Power surges from lightning strikes and electrical current spikes can cause significant damage to your appliances and electronics. Get Surge Coverage and Grounding to help protect your family's budget from the costs of having your covered appliances and electronics repaired after damage caused by power surges. Grounding coverage includes repair or replacement of your home's grounding electrode system at the electric meter.

You'll pay a low monthly cost, and when a power surge hits or grounding wires fail, we'll reimburse you for the covered repair up to your chosen plan's coverage limit. If your items cannot be repaired and must be replaced, the plan covers the depreciated value of the items up to your coverage limit.

In the event of power surge or grounding damage, you'll:
- Assess – Have your damaged items assessed by a licensed service provider to verify the power surge damage.
- Repair or replace – Once the damage is verified to be the result of a power surge and approval has been received, proceed with the repair with an authorized service provider. Covered repairs and diagnostic costs are reimbursed at 100% up to your plan's coverage limit. Repairs and diagnostic costs are reimbursed at 100% up to your plan's coverage limit. Covered replacements are reimbursed up to your plan's coverage limit and according to a depreciation schedule that can be found in the terms and conditions (En Español).
- Complete form – Complete your claims form with the service provider's invoice along with its assessment of the power surge damage. Completed claim forms must be received within 30 days from the qualified service contractor's repair invoice date in order to receive reimbursement.
- Get reimbursed – In the event of a grounding repair, a licensed technician will make the needed repairs. After your claim is processed, you'll receive a check to cover assessment costs and repair of your items.
